Sets of four grass-woven table mats by a women’s group from Bwindi, Uganda

These beautiful table mats have been handmade by the Ryamigogo Women’s Group in a rural community in the southern sector of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwest Uganda. These 8 ladies meet once a week to weave and catch up on local news. Creating stylish and bespoke, yet useful products for sale adds significantly to their annual income.

These items are hard-wearing, heat-resistant and well-made out of two types of grass and the ladies only use leaves, herbs, berries and bark to achieve these deep earthy colours in their designs.

These mats look equally great on your dining table or on your walls as a splash of art – so why not give your table and walls some love in time for Christmas!
